Republic day on 26th January 1950. As on this day our constitution had came into force and our country became an independent republic.
It is been said that Dr Bhim rao Ambedkar is the father of our constitution but it doesn't mean that he has written our constitution. In framing our constitution many of them had join hands and those are Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajendra prasad, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and many more.
Jawaharlal Nehru is the one who had found the idea of framing the constitution of our country.
Now, The point lies what is constitution ? Though we are familiar with the Indian constitution still Awareness is spread by celebrating 26 th Jan that's a day were constitution of our country came into force and effect .

Constitution is the foundational law of a country which ordains(appoints) the fundamental principles on which the government (or the governance) of that country is based as well as modalities of interaction between the government and its citizens.
Formation of Indian Constitution.
After our independence 15th August 1947, The constituent Assembly was set up and formed a committee called Drafting Committee to draft or edit the constitution of India with Dr B R Ambedkar as the chairman on August 29th 1947, thus how he titled as the father of Indian constitution. The first constitution of India framed and given to themselves by the people of India was adopted by the constituent Assembly on 26th November 1949. It came into full operation with effect from 26th January 1950.
Some interesting facts :-
1. Took 2 years, 11 months, & 18 days for the constituent Assembly to finalise the constitution.
2. After finalisation of constitution it took 6 month to calligraph our constitution.
3. Used 254 pen holder and 303 pen nib to write down the constitution.
4.The constitution was penned down by Prem Bihari Raizada (saxena).
