No doubt electronics has made our life easy. if we just give a look at our own home will find more electronics device than any other items. if I am not wrong we are actually lived by them, Look around you, you will find gadgets all over the where, some of them might be lying down on the table like charger, earphones and few on the wall like television, ac, & many more to read out. So much of  device we have around us that it takes some time to list out all of those items. Now, we are at the stage of digital life, where each and everyday electronics has been improved or developed with an advance features, especially mobile device which updates new version of it every day. The development of technology is beneficial in every field like medical, transport, etc. It not only eases our life but also improve our quality life by determining minute to minute object with the help of health, IT, electronics & medical equipment. But did you ever realize what is the consequence of these gadgets & equipment after the end of its life span?

Impacts and solution of e waste

These all become an E-waste also called Electronic waste. Today it became a serious problem on earth after plastic. It is estimated that over 50-  60 million tons of e-waste is produced every year in the world. Technology is changing day by day by making our life easier but this leads the old tech gadget & accessories to become junk or waste. E-waste is toxic as it contains harmful material like beryllium, cadmium, mercury, lead, etc and it causes an adverse impact on the atmosphere, According to the environmental study the presence of lead level on earth becomes high due to the dump of e-waste & now it is affecting groundwater, soil & due to this a serious problem is occurring to us like harmful disease and also affect to our fertile land. According to the survey over 70% of e-waste accounts for computer devices only and it is estimated that only 15 to 20% of e-waste is recycled. Over 80%  of electronic waste is dumped on the ground after their ends of the life cycle. Many of them can be recycled, refurbished but we don't have the better facilities centre for this. It is estimated that over a billion of the smartphone are active and over 30% of them get change every month & also growing exponentially. In simple words, the top source of e-waste is a computer, Mobile phones, home appliances & electric products.

Impacts and solution of e waste

So to overcome this challenge recycling is the only way as it also reduced the amount of greenhouse emission that causes by the manufacturing new one. Nowadays recycling of products become a source of income in some parts of the world. Trading of e-waste from a developed country to a developing country makes thousand of people employed but due to lack of proper facilities these country are becoming a dump yard for the e-waste & it is also affecting the health of worker who is engaged in recycling and refurbishing of products and also to those people living nearby to that area.

Now some major companies like (Samsung, Sony ) are taking initiatives for building e-waste management facilities centre. But it shouldn't be enough, there must be at least one proper picking and re-cycle site in the city and the government must initiate a strict rule against it by making defined rules and regulations for e-waste. We all are surrounded by electronics product and it will become a major issue if it's not in control.

Take the initiative of disposing e-waste at the right place & at the right time. Make use of electronics appliances as much as it can, utilize it till it works and try to reduce buying new electronic devices before the old electronics stop working.

Thank you ...
