Garba is a traditional dance originated from Gujrat, India and it is mainly organized on the eve of Durga puja or Nauratri where people gather and celebrate it together. Process of Garba dance:
Basically, the dance is like placing Maa Durga in the middle and everyone dances around her forming the ring. It is mainly categorized into 5 processes. The addition of the whole five processes complete full Garba. and every process has its own steps of dancing.
Here is the process are...
1. 1st Tali: It comes first in Garba and played it for the first one Hour.
2. 2nd Tali: It is also played for 1 hour and after this, the main Garba starts known as Dhodihya or Raas starts.
3. Dhodiya or Raas: It is a very famous part of Garba, This is the session from where enjoyment begins at full pace. Most of Gujarati's are fond of it.
4. Timli: After Dhodiya, Timli dance begins in which a group of 7 to 10 people dance together with particular steps. So before attending the garba you should have your group of friends and family so that you enjoy it in a much better way but it's not compulsory, you can join other groups too.
5. Sanida: At last it ends with Sanida and it is very interesting. Here in 'sanida' the singer used to sing the two lines and in between this small time everyone takes rest by sitting and after the singer finishes the line everyone stands and dances with rhythm. Everyone does this until the singer ends the song.

Garba is a Gujarati folk dance celebrated only in Navratri. The origin of Garba is Gujrat, India and the name of Garba comes from Sanskrit word Garbha, it means womb. it performs for nine days( Nauratri) of Durga puja. it becomes so famous that it gets spread not nationally but internationally.
It becomes very famous in the USA, Canada and also popular in the UK. So many universities of these countries organize the Garba at their places. where Universities of Toronto hose the largest Garba there. So many Gujarati families out there on those countries also organize their Garba and dandiya nights.
Note: The main thing you should know that the Garwa and the dandiya is two different dance. Where Garba is traditionally a Gujarati dance whereas Dandiya comes from Rajasthan. But today it gets merged and the dance became more energetic.
In Garba, People dance in a circle with the rhythm of the music in a clockwise manner. whereas in dandiya, it is a majority of two circles, people holding the stick on their hand and clash it while dancing with the rhythm of music and both the circle of people revolve clock and anti-clockwise direction.
