Holi is known for a 'festival of colour's' and this colour define us in many ways and starts with the burning of holika known as Holika Dahan. people play with colour's, and they meet, laugh, forget and forgive & celebrate it with joy. It is celebrated across every part of northern India and also prevalent in other parts of western world as it signifies the victory of good over evil. The story behind it was about the king Hirnayakasyap, who had a boon that he couldn't be killed by a human being nor an animal, not in air not in water, neither a day or night, neither with astra or sastra not indoor nor in outdoor and this made him arogant and he used to call himself a God and  demand to worship himself from peoples so the God krishna appears as a 'avatar' of Narshimbha , with half as human and  half as lion & killed him at the door.
It is also known for the 'festival of love' A devine love of Radha for krishna specially in Braj region of india and it celebrate so revelry.
